What the dog food industry doesn’t want you to find out!
It’s an unfortunate fact in today’s consumer driven market that companies rarely look past profits. It would seem the days when manufacturers actually cared about the products they put out are long gone, with family owned pet stores replaced with fume-pumping factories. So it should come as no surprise that most of the top pet food brands contain a vast array of toxic substances. Yes, you read that right, toxic substances that are literally knocking years off of your beloved pet’s life!
For legal reasons, we can’t state the actual brands of dog food containing these substances, but what we can tell you is that if you’re buying pet food from the supermarket, it’s almost 100% guaranteed that it’s full of unhealthy additives (additives which are a leading cause of canine aggression) and meat from diseased animals. The average American dog lives only 11 years, but in optimal conditions, dogs live up to 27 years, a whopping 16 years longer! So enough of the introduction, let’s get into the nitty gritty, be warned, you will need to brace yourself for this…
Shocking, isn’t it?
You would think the FDA (government organization controlling what is and isn’t fit for consumption) would protect animals, but actually, they do quite the opposite. It’s a well kept secret that the FDA approves the use of meat from DISEASED animals for man’s best friend, and because there aren’t enough “official” links that it’s causing damage to pets (though thousands of dogs are “mysteriously” cured of conditions such as mange upon ditching commercial pet food) they get away with it time and time again! This is no joke, check this out:
“Pet food consisting of material from diseased animals or animals which have died otherwise than by slaughter, which is in violation of 402(a)(5) will not ordinarily be actionable, if it is not otherwise in violation of the law. It will be considered fit for animal consumption.”
If you don’t believe me, and I wish I could tell you this was all one big scare tactic, it’s written on their official site right here:
To think the FDA have knowingly allowed me to feed my dog with meat from animals who died in undisclosed ways (roadkill? Contagious illnesses? Who knows, they certainly don’t!) or diseased meat without any kind of warning on the packaging makes me all kinds of furious, and I’m sure if you love your pet like I love mine you’ll be feeling just as enraged right now! But it goes beyond just that, aside from diseased meat, companies use all sorts of expense-cutting substances to replace natural product, all for the sake of a few pennies! It really makes you wonder how some people are able to sleep at night. So to recap, not only are the FDA giving the green light on your dog receiving rotten diseased meat, but companies are also being given the go-ahead to feed your pet all kinds of synthetic substances which are literally knocking years off of their life.
A dog fed on a healthy diet can live decades longer than a dog fed on branded pet food. But of course you have to get the nutritional balance exactly right or you risk severely harming your pet.
