Yunnan Baiyao, translated as “white medicine from Yunnan”, is a vastly popular asian herb widely used in the Chinese army. It’s reputation in asia is reportedly equal to that of penicillin in the western world. It has many uses, but is most commonly given to dogs as a treatment for tumors of the heart and spleen. There are no expected side effects of Yunnan Baiyao use though some herbal remedies may cause stomach upset.
Yunnan Baiyao dosage for dogs
The dosage of trilostane for dogs is size dependent. Pills come in various formulations ranging from 10 mg capsules up to 120 mg. Check the following table for typical dosage amounts:

Is Yunnan Baiyao safe for dogs?
Yunnan Baiyao is considered very safe for use when used as recommended.
- Speak to the vet before using Yunnan Baiyao, as a stronger substance may be needed alongside the herb to adequately treat your dog
- Give Yunnan Baiyao 3 full hours after your pet has eaten but not on a completely empty stomach (i.e. in the morning)
- Avoid over-use of this herb, as potency may be lost over time with continued use
- Anticipate the possibility of stomach upset
